Nourishment – Not an illusion , but a necessity ..

Dear Readers ,

On the occasion of Diwali , I want to share a small understanding with you all. At Dhanteras, my husband brought a picture of Shiva standing before Maa Annapurna with an utensil to take food from . The picture reflects him as a very ordinary being asking for food. When I searched for the significance and the story behind it, it turned out that Shiva had once ignored food thinking it as a mere illusion. Then the famine strucks and after that even Shiva stands before Annapurna to ask for some food and she put some alms in her utensil.

This brought me even to more ground level realisation that many of us ..sometimes even I think of nourishment as illusion. The things which nourish you – songs , dance , writing ..everyobody has has/her own nourishment. and we consider it useless. This is the biggest mistake we make because Shiva can not perform his duties towards this world without food – consciousness can never work to its full potential without nourishment. Thus the balance of head and heart ..The union of Shiv and Shakti !

The most ancient knowledge of our sacred motherland ..I wish this post reaches everyone who rejects food thinking as mere illusion…
